Self-care and stress management for parents of small and/or large children (*Dutch)
Taking care of your child(ren), managing the household, maintaining social contacts, visiting grandma and grandpa, eating healthily, getting enough exercise, going to work, ... A lot is expected of young parents, many balls (too many?) need to be kept in the air. The pressure we feel on our shoulders is incredibly high. Consequently, more and more people are going down, the number of (parental) burn-outs and depressions is almost uncountable. 'Self-care' is increasingly an item we should consciously put on our agenda, just like 'relaxation' or 'rest'. But how do you do that, take care of yourself, when expectations are sky-high? When can you have time for yourself when there are small children in the house? And how can you try to keep your stress levels in check anyway?
A session where we will reflect on the pressure that is on our shoulders and look at what stress can do to you. We will look for ways to integrate 'self-care' and 'relaxation' into your life, without it becoming another item on your agenda.
This session will be given in Dutch.
The session will be taught by Elli Gilbert, clinical psychologist and perinatal counselor.
